Compare: Producthero

Producthero sorts products by performance. Expanly sorts them by the business plan.

Keep Producthero, now part of Channable, for CSS economics and performance groups. Clicks and target ROAS describe advertising performance; the commercial plan is a separate decision. Expanly turns margin, stock, returns and category goals into one daily priority the whole team shares.

The short answer

Producthero vs Expanly

Keep Producthero for CSS economics, performance groups and Shopping workflows. Add Expanly when commercial priority must change with margin, stock, returns and category goals rather than depend on performance groups or tags maintained by hand. Expanly gives ecommerce, commercial and paid media teams one shared priority across the catalog and keeps it current every day.

The unresolved decision

Performance labels describe the account. Commercial priorities direct the budget.

Clicks and target ROAS show how products have performed in advertising. They do not carry the whole commercial decision: a phone variant may convert well but have a high return rate, while another may need faster turnover before its inventory value falls.

Swappie

+20% efficiency

Swappie's Performance Max account had already been optimized to the fullest. Expanly added return rates and commercial priorities across individual phone models and configurations. Swappie saw a 20% efficiency boost in the first month.

Different jobs

Keep what already works. Add the decision that is missing.

Producthero and Expanly own different operating decisions. The sections below show where each product fits.

What Producthero does well

Shopping auction economics, performance segments and product tools.

Producthero combines CSS economics with Labelizer groups that update daily from clicks and target ROAS. Manual Tagging lets teams mark seasonal, promotional, margin or clearance groups directly. Keep Producthero when CSS economics and Shopping workflows are the main job.

Where Expanly adds focus

Make the commercial decision update itself.

Manual tags are useful for a known promotion or a fixed group of products. The maintenance problem begins when the choice depends on live conditions. A product can gain stock, lose margin, move out of season or develop a return-rate problem after the tag was set.

In Expanly, the team approves the commercial logic once. Business Rules evaluate connected margin, stock, returns, availability, category goals and advertising data every day. Each eligible product moves between High, Standard and Low as those conditions change. Expanly Reports then shows revenue, clicks, impressions and ad spend by priority segment.

Producthero keeps performance groups current. Expanly keeps the business decision current.

Using Producthero and Expanly together

Keep the CSS and map one separate priority signal.

Producthero or Channable CSS Pro can remain the CSS and performance-label workflow. Expanly adds one separate commercial-priority signal after the Merchant Center setup has been reviewed.

  1. 01

    Keep Producthero as the CSS

Keep the CSS and the product groups already in use.

  2. 02

    Check the Merchant Center setup

Review existing data sources, custom-label fields and campaign filters.

  3. 03

    Add Expanly

Use one selected custom-label slot after the field allocation is verified.

Producthero instructs users to select an empty custom-label field to avoid overwriting existing values. Every account uses those fields differently, so coexistence is verified account by account. Expanly does not change bids, budgets, campaign settings or the CSS relationship directly; the campaign structure determines how the signal affects delivery.

Producthero FAQ

Questions before adding Expanly

Do we have to replace Producthero to use Expanly?

A replacement is rarely needed. Producthero can remain the CSS and performance-label setup while Expanly adds a separate daily priority after the data sources, custom-label fields and campaign filters have been checked.

We already use Labelizer and manual tags. What does Expanly add?

Performance and commercial priority are different decisions. Labelizer updates groups from clicks and a target ROAS set in Producthero. Manual tags can represent seasonal, promotional or low-margin products, but they remain static. Expanly evaluates connected business data and approved Business Rules daily, then updates each eligible product's commercial priority.

Can Producthero and Expanly labels coexist in Merchant Center?

They can coexist when each tool uses a different available custom-label field and the campaign filters are mapped correctly. We verify the existing fields and source rules before activation to prevent an existing value from being overwritten.

Is Producthero now part of Channable?

Yes. Producthero is part of Channable, while its name, website and tools remain live as of 17 August 2026. Channable says migrations will happen in batches; no Producthero retirement date has been published.
